A note on cultural expropriation: the name for my practice came from a dream I had with a giant marmot whose “up-ness” felt extraordinarily fulfilling and satisfying and beautiful. Giving a business a name that inaccurately suggests an American-Indian origin would be adding insult to injury of the many violent and dishonest acts of European settlers and the U.S. government. I want to be clear I give my practice the name it has to honor my own dream and whatever force creates dreams, not to imply a legitimacy with, similarity to, or connection to the First Peoples of this continent, nor endorsement of cultural appropriation.
